I finally landed the signature single malt from Bull Run (previously had the Madeira finished). It opens with dark caramel, generic cola, green apple, light cinnamon, and fresh mint leaves, followed by orange with zest, pears, white raisins, and a whiff of smoke. The light-oily mouthfeel and clingy legs hold the flavor profile for a medium-long finish of orange cream with zest, virgin oak, and semi-ripe pears – with a hint of pineapple. The folks in Oregon are turning-out some mighty-fine single malts with the barley from the Klamath Basin (~4,000 feel altitude), right here in the USA. Drink slow, drink long, drink a variety, drink often.
